Deep tissue massage focuses on stretching fascia, a three-dimensional web of connective tissue that surrounds, supports and penetrates all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs. Deep tissue massage works layer by layer through connective tissue and muscles down to the deepest accessible layers to change posture and create freedom of movement. Techniques are performed using forearms and elbows which enables pressure to reach about five times deeper into the muscle. Deep tissue massage is excellent for tight backs, sore legs from standing, running or hiking. Deep tissue massage can leave the client feeling very tired due to the deep work so it is best to plan your massage at a suitable time.
